What is a Local Nature Reserve?

Local Nature Reserves are designated by local councils. They are places of interest for their wildlife, that offer opportunities for the enjoyment and study of nature, and for people to get involved in events, education and practical management. The Green Corridor does all of these things, and runs right through the community of Ashford. Ashford Borough Council officially declared it as a Local Nature Reserve in December 2002.
